Week 9

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.
This week is going to go very quickly and there is a lot happening in the school that is going to disrupt the class routine.
We have singing practice for the end of year mass on Monday and Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday we have the dance group from Amjazz coming to school.

Dance Workshop 2015
2/12/2015

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our Junior children are lucky enough to be taking part in a dance day on Tuesday 8th December here at school as part of our Arts Concept study.
Senior dancers from AMJAZZ dance studios will be working with the junior classes during the course of the day, teaching them a simple hip hop dance.  The cost for the workshop is $2 per child which can be paid to your child’s teacher.  It will be a great experience and we know the children are going to have lots of fun.
Many thanks
Junior school teachers
Please make sure the $2.00 finds it's way to school.

Our Junior School Picnic, will take place next Tuesday the 15th of December.  We will be having a shared lunch and a morning filled with water sports and bouncy castles.  It will be loads of fun.  If you are available to come down from 9am until 12.30pm, please do.  The fat man in the red suit is booked in to make an appearance around lunch-time.

In preparation for out "Boat Race" in Week 10, we will be working on making our own boats.  Here is the book that gave us the idea.

We trialled a few boats on Friday, Rohan's was the only one that made it across the pool without sinking.
If you have anything that could help us: ice-cream containers, shoe boxes, plastic lids for sails, toliet rolls for cannons...please drop them off at school.  You are more than welcome to work on the boats at home.  The boats need to be blown across the width of the pool.  All hands are to be behind backs.

Lastly, we are still working on our stop motion movies, here is "Our Zombie Movie"  from Connor, Natasha, and Oli.

Portfolios and reports will go home on Friday.  Anne Cato, the Assistant Principal, has been working hard on the class lists for next year, as soon as she has them completed, I will let you know which class your child will be in.

See you in the morning.

The children are really enjoying their swimming, even though the weather is hideous...again.  Keep an eye on the sniffles and the sore throats and be mindful that they are exhausted.
